The Biden family is under scrutiny once again, as Congress’s Judiciary Committee expands its investigation into Hunter Biden’s dealings with overseas companies. Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) has suggested that up to a dozen members of President Joe Biden’s family may be implicated in behind-the-scenes maneuvers to peddle influence in the wake of his vice presidency.
The IRS and FBI have launched separate investigations into LLCs formed by Hunter Biden and Rob Walker, with allegations of influence peddling and foreign agent status being thrown around.
The number of Biden family members implicated has doubled in just the last month since Rep. Comer suggested half a dozen may have been involved in a $3 million wire payment made by a Chinese company just months after Biden left the vice presidency in 2015.
It remains to be seen how deep the rabbit hole goes, but one thing is clear – this investigation is far from over. Republicans are right to investigate the Biden family and ensure that no illegal or unethical dealings were made to give overseas companies access to America’s halls of power.
