You’ll Be Shocked To Know Who’s Fighting for This Homeless Man’s Justice

Once again, the left is quick to jump to conclusions and blame law enforcement for the tragic death of Jordan Neely on the New York City subway. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to social media to voice her outrage over Neely’s death, claiming that he was “murdered” because he was homeless and crying for food.

But the facts of the situation tell a different story. Neely was in the midst of a mental breakdown, threatening and yelling at passengers on the subway, when a 24-year-old Marine veteran put him in a chokehold for about 15 minutes. Two other passengers also restrained him by holding down his arms and shoulders. Despite their efforts, Neely lost consciousness and was later declared dead at the hospital.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Neely’s death a homicide caused by pressure to the neck. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office promised to review the Medical Instead of recognizing the bravery of the individuals who stepped in to protect their fellow citizens, the left is demonizing law enforcement and calling for police to be defunded. This knee-jerk reaction is misguided and unproductive.

We should focus on addressing the mental health issues that can lead to situations like this and providing better care and support for those in need. Blaming cops for the actions of mentally unstable individuals is unhelpful and counterproductive.

It’s important to approach situations like this with nuance and avoid letting politics cloud our judgment. The investigation into Neely’s death is ongoing, and we should wait for all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
