You’ll NEVER Guess What Happened to This Once-Promising Politician

Andrew Gillum, the former Democratic candidate for governor of Florida, is facing serious charges of wire fraud and giving false statements to the FBI. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison for each of his 17 counts. Gillum has denied any wrongdoing, but evidence seems to suggest otherwise.

Gillum was caught on tape accepting gifts from developers, including Broadway shows, hotel stays, and private tours of New York City. The alleged crimes occurred during his time as mayor of Tallahassee, and he left office in 2018.

Gillum’s fall from grace has been swift. After narrowly losing to Republican Ron DeSantis in the 2018 Florida gubernatorial race, Gillum was found in a hotel room with a man who appeared to be in the throes of a drug overdose.

Accusations of misusing campaign funds to enrich himself have been levied against Gillum since his time as mayor. He has always denied any wrongdoing, but his legal troubles continue to mount.
