Steven Van Zandt, a Democrat activist and guitarist, caused controversy recently when he called for the “genocide” of Republicans, referring to them as “cockroaches.” This kind of language is unacceptable and has no place in our political discourse.
Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of the left’s increasingly violent rhetoric. From Maxine Waters’ calls to harass Trump officials to the numerous instances of left-wing violence, it’s clear that the left has no qualms about using violent language and actions to get their way.
But the truth is, this kind of rhetoric is not going to intimidate Republicans. It’s only going to make us more determined to fight for our beliefs and values. We will not be silenced or intimidated by these kinds of threats.
It’s time for the left to start taking responsibility for their words and actions. It’s time for them to condemn violent language and behavior, and to start working towards real solutions that benefit all Americans.
