After former President Donald Trump expressed doubts about his ability to run for re-election in 2024, President Joe Biden responded by saying that he plans to run for re-election. In an interview with NBC’s Today show, Biden said that he is “planning on running” in 2024.
“I don’t know if there will be a Republican Party,” Biden said. “Do you?”
Biden’s comments come after Trump said during an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that he does not believe Biden is capable of seeking re-election. Biden did not directly respond to Trump’s comments, but instead focused on his own plans for the future.
“I plan on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet,” Biden told NBC host Al Roker during a recent interview. “We’ve got a lot of work to do between now and then.”
Biden, who is 81 years old, is the oldest person to ever be elected to the presidency. He has not yet formally announced his candidacy for re-election in 2024.
