Musician and Democrat activist Steven Van Zandt recently shared a tweet calling for the “genocide” of Republicans, referring to them as “cockroaches.”
This kind of extreme rhetoric is unacceptable and contributes to the growing political divide in our country. We must condemn this type of speech and work toward a more civil political discourse, where we can respectfully disagree without resorting to threats of violence.
It’s especially concerning that a public figure like Van Zandt would engage in this kind of behavior. We must hold those who engage in violent rhetoric accountable and demand better from our leaders and influencers.
