Florida Democrats have launched a new digital campaign to attack Governor Ron DeSantis. The campaign, called “Ron’s Gotta Go,” includes a website, social media accounts, and a digital ad campaign targeting the governor’s policies and leadership.
The website, which features a countdown clock until the 2022 gubernatorial election, claims that DeSantis is “failing” the state on issues like education, healthcare, and the economy. The site also features a petition calling for DeSantis to be voted out of office.
Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz said in a statement, “Governor DeSantis has failed Floridians on every front, from public health and the environment to economic opportunity and public education. Floridians deserve better, and we’re committed to making sure they get it by defeating Ron DeSantis in 2022.”
The digital ad campaign will run across various social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, and will feature ads targeting key demographics in the state. The ads will focus on issues like DeSantis’ handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, his environmental record, and his ties to former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis has not yet announced whether he will seek re-election in 2022, but he is widely expected to run for president in 2024.
